היבול בשנת השמיטה והלכותיו:
מצווה מן התורה להפקיר את הפירות בשנת השמיטה, שנאמר: "והשביעית תשמטנה ונטשתה" (שמות כג, יא). ולדעת מרן הבית יוסף החיוב מוטל על בעל השדה, ואין השדה מופקרת מכח מצוות התורה.
